Both feature four delicate neck darts, Ellis, who gets some more feminine shaping from bust darts, is waisted, with set-in sleeves and inseam side pockets. Hattie has a lined bodice, dropped waist and bold patch pockets.

Skill level: Intermediate

Suitable for linen or light wools, light to medium weight woven cotton such as drill or sanded canvas. Hattie is made in Irish checked linen.

This is a multi-size paper pattern in an envelope, including sizes 8 – 18. Both have 1.5cm seam allowances apart from the neck which has a 1cm seam allowance and these are included in the pattern.

The pattern piece for the skirt is quite wide so we have only specified fabrics that are 120cm.

You can use narrower fabric on the following sizes:

For Ellis sizes 8 & 10 in 112cm wide fabric.

For Hattie sizes 8,10 & 12 in 112cm wide fabric.

For Hattie size 8 in 106cm wide fabric.

#WHO MADE ME?

There are some brands that inspire creativity. Merchant & Mills is top on our list. Their purpose is to make (or more precisely get YOU to make) clothes, not fashion. In curating and designing patterns, fabrics and tools, they make our fingers itch to start deisgning, cutting and making.  The two creators behind the brand are Carolyn Denham, who has a degree in Fashion design and has worked in New York, Italy and London and Roderick Field, a respected photographer with works in the National Portrait Gallery and keeps the look of the brand through his gorgeous product photos.
